From the beginning, this story has you on the edge of your seat. Shortly after the story begins, a murder occurs which sends Soledad on the run from the murderer with her best friend's baby. Soledad ends up at Palmer's ranch. Once Soledad settles in, Palmer and Soledad become closer and they develop feelings for each other. I really enjoyed both Palmer and Soledad's characters. Palmer was so caring and protective and Soledad was sassy and loyal to a fault. Even though Soledad was hiding from a killer, I was glad that humor was included in the story. I also enjoyed the relationship that developed between Jack the dog and baby Lyra. Jack definitely wasn't going to let anything happen to that baby. Mrs. Mello did a wonderful job of blending romance, humor and suspense. If you enjoy romantic suspense, you certainly need to read this book.
